Disability discounts in Strasbourg

Where the disabled tariff applies in Strasbourg, what it costs, and which document to bring to the ticket desk.

In Strasbourg the headline discount is admission to the city museums, free for the disabled visitor and one companion on showing a disability card at the ticket desk. The same card halves several public-transport rules, since a companion travelling with a CMI Invalidité cardholder rides free on the CTS network.

The table below lists every Strasbourg venue and service where the disabled tariff is published on the operator's own site. Where a venue's disabled policy could not be verified on a primary source, the row is left out rather than guessed.

What to bring to the ticket desk

Bring an original disability card. A French Carte Mobilité Inclusion (CMI) is the standard document; a foreign card with the international wheelchair symbol or an equivalent national disability pass is also accepted by the city museums. Photocopies are not accepted at the desk, and the card must be in the name of the visitor claiming the discount.

At the city museums (MAMCS, Musée Historique, Musée des Beaux-Arts in Palais Rohan, Aubette 1928 and seven others) the network policy waives the ticket for both the visitor and one companion on sight of the card. No advance booking is needed for the disabled tariff.

What is not in the table

The cathedral platform ascent is not listed because the climb is 330 stairs with no lift and is not usable from a wheelchair. CTS monthly subscriptions for cardholders are not listed because the published reduction is not currently visible on a verifiable subscription page; ask at a CTS sales point for the current PMR fare. Discounts at hotels and restaurants are not in scope for this page.
