Overseas Travel
1. If in doubt about the safety or risk in travelling to any destination check the Australian Govt website  www.smartraveller.gov.au
2. Valid passport (some countries require that the passport be valid for six months or more)   Is a visa required?
3. Health Documents. for requirements check the Australian Govt website,

4. If you are taking prescription drugs with you, ensure that you are in possesion of a letter from a doctor stating your condition and why the drugs are required.
5. The Australian Govt has a health hotline 1802007 for advice on areas of concern (Does the country to be visited have a serious problem with any health issue such as swine flu)     When outside Australia you can contact this service on a toll free number +61 884028833
6.  Do you require boiled water for any hygene requirement, if so an electric power adaptor will be required.
7.  Travel insurance is strongly recommended as medical costs overseas and aboard cruise ships can be expensive.   Remember such costs may NOT be claimed on ailments which existed before your travel commenced.

Wheelchair
A regular manpowered folding chair is generally no problem.    If travelling with an electric chair or a scooter it is advisable to have the information manual with you when travelling to show travel organisations such as airlines.    They will have regulations on the type of battery which may be carried and the size and weight of your vehicle.    In most cases these will be carried free of charge by the operator.
Don't forget you will require an adaptor to recharge your vehicle .   Airlines will provide a wheelchair to use in the airport and your chair will be loaded with your baggage.

Public Toilets
Some public disabled toilets around Australia are locked !    The Master Locksmiths Association have members around Australia, a key can be purchased from any member which will fit ALL public toilets.
